Why the f*ck is Jay-Z on the World Series float!? I didn’t think I could hate the Yankees any more…guess I was wrong. Sweet hat, A-Rod.

Too Late to Tinker?
Tonight is Game 6 and I have already notified my boss that I am finished working for the day, and if things work out as planned, the week. I know the popular phrase these days is over-managing… but what are the thoughts on this?
Andy Petitte had success against the lefties last time around. What do you think about hitting Utley 2nd, Werth 3rd and Victo 5th. Utley will hit no matter where he is slotted and Werth proved to be Petitte’s daddy last time out. I cannot imagine that they would pitch around the lefty killing Werth to get to Howard but I could if he was hitting in front of Raul. Victo at 5 only to separate Howard and Raul.
Ok as I was putting this together I noticed High Cheese had the same thought.
Either way..
Thoughts? Over-managing or make the change? What would you do?
Cholly already said he is not switching the lineup but lucky for us... me and him are boys. I'll give him a call.

"Around the Horn" Clown takes Shot at Philly.

Another Santa Claus reference by a clueless national idiot. Is it too much to ask to have these clowns do some research and write something original when they are covering an event. Man, next thing you know Stat Boy is going to be doing a Fantasy Football article for the Inquirer. Quote below from his Fanhouse site.
" This is where they booed Santa Claus but gave a standing ovation to a dog killer named Michael Vick. This is where they taunted Mike Schmidt, maybe the best third baseman ever. This is where Donovan McNabb is viewed as an emotional dishrag, where MIchael Irvin was cheered when he lay motionless on the field, where I saw a woman in an UTLEY jersey tell a guy to "stop being a (p----)," where men are men unless someone wonders otherwise, which means your life is screwed."
Hey Jay - Ozzie Guillen thinks you are a "slur"
You could insert a variety of slurs to get my feeling about him.

Chase Utley, Still the Man
Here is the cover of the NY Daily News this morning. Classic.
Great game for the Fightins last night at CBP. Chase Utley continued to solidify his legacy among the Philly faithful, Cliff Lee was solid and the bullpen was scary as hell – that pretty much sums it up. The series now heads back to NY for Game 6 on Wednesday night. Pedro vs. Pettite - two old men with storied careers will take the mound for their respective teams in hopes of extending or ending the season. Here’s hoping Pedro has one more gem in him.
Did you hear about Brett Myers confronting Hamels about his comments the other day? I’m sure there were a few guys in that clubhouse that wanted to do the same.

Yankees @ Phillies Game 5 - Live Blog
DirtyWudders will be on site as the Phillies try to extend their season. Cliff Lee gets the ball against A.J. Burnett. The Yankees hold a 3-1 series lead and the Phillies are hoping to become the first team since the '85 Royals to come back from a 3-1 deficit. In 2004 the Yankees held a 3-0 lead over Boston before blowing it. Wake up Bats. First pitch 7:57pm.
DirtyWudders plans to be in the Parking lot by 4:30 to enjoy the final home game of the season. Feel free to comment away during the game! We will be back for Game 6.

Monday Morning Hangover

I don't want to go into too much detail about last night, we all saw what happened. That was by far the hardest loss that I have ever had to take as a Phillies fan. Just a couple of points here that maybe you can help me figure out. I am clearly not over this and I need some closure on this one so I don't drive myself completely insane:
1. All season long we saw once Brad Lidge allows a base runner he turns into a head case. Why not pull him and go for another matchup. The momentum was in their favor headed into the 9th. Get a good matchup with another pitcher and get Texiera out
2. Why are you not keeping Damon close?
3. Why were you not prepared for a steal in that situation? Chooch threw the ball from his knees. Damon is not a base stealer!
4. Why was everyone confused about who was covering where?
5. Why didn't Charlie go out and talk to Lidge to try and slow down the momentum after Damon got on?
6. When Charlie was asked in his press conference who was supposed to be covering third, it sounded like he wasn’t even sure. He said that Ruiz should have been covering. So Ruiz is supposed to throw the ball to second and then sprint up the third base line? NO WAY! If Brad Lidge wasn’t so flustered over one base runner, he would have known that his responsibility in that situation is to get his ass to third base! This all stems from Charlie not going to the mound!
7. Are you kidding me pitching to A-Rod? On top of that throwing him FASTBALLS? Let Posada beat you.
8. For those of you on the live blog last night we talked all game long about the pitching keeping us in the game, and the offense having to step up. Then the offense stepped up, and the pitching let us down. Have to put together a complete game to win in the World Series.
9. No one should be questioning the move to start Blanton. He pitched really good, and gave the Phils an excellent opportunity to win this game. So all of you out there that want to put some of the blame on Blanton, you can go F yourself.
I love Charlie, but I have to say that he had everything to do with what is the worst loss of my lifetime. Its a tough road at this point, but it can be done. Lee tonight and then again in game 7 if necessary. Yankees are pitching on short rest, so hopefully the Phils can put some offense together. We never counted this team out all year, so don't start now. This can be done. Hopefully DW will bring them some luck tonight as we will be there ready for game 5. Lets try to get over this and move forward. LET'S GO PHILS! Read More

World Series Game 4 - Live Blog
Game 4 tonight at Citizens Bank Park, first pitch at 8:20. Joe Blanton takes the mound for the Phils and C.C Sabathia will have the ball for the Yanks. CC is on three days rest, so let's hope the Phils reap the benefits of his shortened schedule. The Yankees are up 2-1 in the series, and to say this game is a must-win would be an understatement, in my opinion. F New York!

Eye of the Storm
How about 'dem Birds? McNabb coming off of two TERRIBLE performances, was as accurate as I've seen him in a log time. Giants killer Brian Westbrook OUT? How about the Eagles run the ball through the heart of the Giants D. Weaver and Mccoy were both damn good. Desean was Desean. Gotta love Celek. Always nice to beat the shit out of a New York team, especially after last night's dissapointment. 5-2, with 2 straight wins over NFC East teams is pretty solid. Bring on Dallas!
Eli Manning stinks. How is he the highest paid player in the NFL? The Eagles got their hands on almost every ball he threw. He looked like a scared puppy in the pocket. Jacobs does not scare me at all, as a featured running back. Bradshaw is the more dangerous back on that team. In the Inky today, in 5 keys, said that the "Giants let Plaxico go for a reason - they had better receivers than him". Are you serious? Plax was Manning's security blanket. When Eli would soil himself he could always through a jump ball to Burress. Steve Smith is decent. Nicks has potential. Manningham? Whatever there are a hundred receivers like him. None of those guys are difference makers..Ok enough of the Giants..frauds.
So far this weekend, Eagles hammered the giants, Sixers outscored the knicks and the yankees beat the Phils. Tonight, the Phils put the icing on the cake of a great weekend.
Thanks to Nard Dog for scoring tickets to the game tonight and allowing me to be in attendence tomorrow. Better bring the heat on ARod tonight! I was quite dissapointed on the crowd's reaction to him. He is a sensitive lttle bitch, fans need to attack him. Well, at least verbally. Get him off his game. Read this story.
Wanda Sykes makes me want to punch a whole in my wall, I long for the the Men of a Certain Age commercial from TBS. Not really. I think Blanton keeps the Phils in the game tonight. I'm confident in him, he was consistant this year. The Phillies have to work "Fat Sabbath" (Thanks cuz G.H.) in the early innings, get him out in the middle and erupt on the relief. Ryan Howard wakes up with a couple of hits and a bomb. The right handed hitters and switch hitters need to step up. How about 11-6 Phils.

Series Returns to Philly

Needing a little atmosphere, the World Series shifts from "tame and civil" New York to "loud and rowdy" Philadelphia. Phils fans will be on their best behavior hoping to boost Cole Hamels to game 3 victory. Jimmy Rollins made sure the New York newspapers had something to write about before he left town. (quote after the jump)
"It's really more of a different atmosphere at our ballpark, which is so loud and rowdy. I expected that when I came here, but I heard one big cheer, and that was on a home run. Other than that," said Rollins, whose answer trailed off to a shrug. "Expensive tickets are running loud people out,"
Gotta love it when he stirs the pot. It's the truth though. New York cannot compete with Philadelphia when it comes to passion! Lets go Phils
(Beers to McNabbulous for the tip)

Who You Got?

Don’t know if you heard or not, but there’s a baseball game tonight in the Bronx. It feels like months since the Phillies dispatched of the Dodgers in the NLCS, but after all the waiting it’s finally here. World Series Game 1 in New York tonight: two former Indians on the mound, MVP-caliber talent in the field, and 50,000 scumbags in the stands. It doesn’t get any better than this! GO PHILS!
The only question that matters now: Who wins? How many games? Who’s your MVP?
Namesake: Phils beat Sabathia tonight, take two in Philly, and take Game 7 in the Bronx – mark it down. Taking into consideration the issues the Phillies have had with inconsistent starting pitching (Hamels), I really feel like tonight’s game is crucial to the Phillies success in this series - they need to win when Cliff Lee pitches. If they lose tonight a ton of pressure is put on the shoulders of Pedro Martinez, and I’m not saying he isn’t up to it, but it would make me nervous as hell. Regardless, I’m confident that they get it done – no doubt about it. Howard will continue his dominance, Lidge will be lights out, and Chase Utley is going to become the next great Yankee killer. FUNY!
Phils in 7. MVP: Cliff Lee.
Doc: This is what we’ve been waiting for! I haven’t gotten any work done in a week. Key for the Phillies is to steal a game in NY. If they can win tonight, NY would be spooked (down goes C.C.) and it takes the pressure off Pedro (not so much worried about Pedro but more me watching Pedro, down1-0) and I can see the Phillies winning it at home. Howeva – here is how I see it. Yanks take Game 1, 3-2. The Phillies answer and win a bullpen game, 8-5. Cole outlasts Pettite, 4-2 in Game 3 and C.C tops Blanton 6-3 in Game 4. Now it’s a 3 game series with Philly favored pitching matchups in 2 of the 3. Game 5, Lee beats Burnett, 5-1. Pedro vs 3-day rest Pettite (if Clemens misremember’s not to inject him) or Gaudin in Game 6. Phils win 10-4!
Phils in 6! MVP: Jayson Werth
Sec202: I know that I said before that I liked the Phils in 7, but I did some thinking and played it out in my head. I have to change my mind on this one. I know everyone is going to think that I am crazy, but I am standing by our shortstop on this one and going with the Phils in 5. Everyone keeps saying that it is impossible to beat CC 3 times in a series. Well who says that we are facing him three times? We will face him in game 1 and game 4. We take 1 in New York, and take the rest in Philly. For the Phils to win in 5 they only have to beat CC once. The rest of the Yankees starters are not that good. MVP is going to our shortstop. Remember last time he made a prediction against a New York team? What happened? That’s right New York you are just another New York team that will become a notch on Jimmy’s belt.
Phils in 5. MVP: Jimmy Rollins
Post your predictions and comments below.
GO PHILS!

A ROD

I am so sick and tired of hearing about this steroid using piece of shit Gay Rod. I don't care about who he is dating, even though Kate Hudson is a cover up because he really blows dudes. All of the sudden analysts and Yankees fans think he is Mr. October because he had a few hits against a terrible Twins team, and the Angels. Look what he has done throughout his career. He has sucked in the past and it has taken him years to finally contribute in the postseason. I don't care how much talent this freak has. He took steroids, and he is a CHOKE ARTIST! This is his first World Series in his career, so I am sure that his ass will be tight, and he will want to dig himself a hole because he can't handle pressure. All of the analysts are saying that A Rod is finally "relaxed" and that is why he is hitting. So that means it took 5 years for him to get relaxed in the playoffs. Well I have news for you pal, the World Series is whole different beast to tame.
Remember when this bitch was crying about the Yankees fans booing him? What is he going to do when he comes to Philly? If you think Manny got it bad in the Dodgers series, I can't imagine what will happen to Gay Rod. He is almost guaranteed to start taking steroids again after his trip to Philly.
FU A Rod! You are a loser, you haven't won anything in your career. You are a shitty teammate, and even a worse human being. You cheated baseball to win MVPs, you made an ass of yourself about your contracts, women (strippers), and more importantly your postseason career. So good luck in the series I hope you SUCK!
