Brett Myers doesn't seem to happy with the Phillies for not having any interest in resigning the veteran righty. "I wanted to go back to Philadelphia, but they didn't show an interest, they had other obligations, which is fine with me," Myers said. He then promised to "stick it" to the Phillies every time he faces them.(philly.com) The Phillies do not seem all that worried...
The Astros are confident that Myers will not beat his wife anymore. "We did our due diligence, we talked to the Phillies, we talked to Brett and we're satisfied that this is not going to be an ongoing problem," said Team president Tal Smith.
Here is a pretty good piece about the ex-phils, Ed Wade has brought to Houston.

This brain-dead hick. So glad he's gone. I'm sure the Phils are quaking in their boots. The last thing he was able to "stick" to anyone was a left jab to his wife's chin. Now please go away forever.
ReplyDeleteEd Wade is trying to talk Bruce Ruffin out of retirement...
Stick it for what, sticking with him when he beat his wife? Getting him a World Series ring? Fuggeddaboutit.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty funny, he is such a waste. Why would he think that the Phils would sign him back? He was hurt all last year and was in Triple-A for most of the year before that. He should be thanking his lucky stars that there is someone dumb enough on this earth to give him $5 million. Ed Wade is such an idiot.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it was a bad move for Wade to sign him to a 1 year deal. There are worse players signed to much worse contracts. What are the Phils paying Moyer - 8 mil?
ReplyDeleteI don't think he's going to stick it to anybody but he obviously feels like he has something to prove.
I would have thought he'd be a reliever though.
