Namesake’s Picks:
Game 1: Dallas @ Tampa Bay Line: Dallas -6 O/U: 39
As much as I would love for Dallas to lose, Tampa just flat out sucks this year. I think Dallas’ offense will be too much for Tampa in this one and they get rolled on. The line opened at 3, so that tells you how the public is feeling about Tampa’s chances as well. Trend: Dallas is 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games in September.
Pick: Dallas to cover
Game 2: Kansas City @ Baltimore Line: Baltimore -13 O/U: 36
I know the line is high, but with the Chiefs proclaiming Matt Cassel as doubtful for Sunday’s game, KC is getting routed. Baltimore’s defense should have a field day with Brodie Croyle behind center, so expect a few turnovers in this one. Trend: Baltimore is 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games vs. AFC opponents.
Pick: Baltimore to cover
Doc's Picks:
Game 1: Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers Line: Pack -3.5 O/U 46
Tough divisional match-up for week 1. Both teams are capable of putting up points but I look for this to be a smash mouth game. I like Green Bay to win straight up but I like the under better.
Pick: Under
Game 2: New York Jets @ Houston Texans Line: Texans -4.5 O/U 44
The Jets will try to ease Sanchez in by establishing a run game. Rex Ryan will try to stifle the big play attack of Shaub/Slaton/Johnson. I’m going with the under here.
Pick: Under
Section 202's Picks:
Falcons -4 to cover against the Dolphins
Vikings -4 to cover against the Browns
Rams +8.5 to cover against the Seahawks
