Eagles-Skins Live Blog

The Birds take on Sherm Lewis and the Redskins tonight in what should be an easy victory for the Eagles. I am fairly confident the Birds will dominate, but after last week's game who the hell knows what team will show up. Leave your comments after the jump.

I'm predicting 27-10...what do you think?

231 comments:

  1. I cant believe Sherm Lewis is calling the plays. Just another one of Dan Snyder's genius moves.

    ReplyDelete
  2. Jaws: Campbell is in a "mental slump"...No - he is just a terrible QB

    ReplyDelete
  3. I love how Matt Millen was there when Steve Young was talking about shitty front offices

    ReplyDelete
  4. against all teams but the Eagles

    ReplyDelete
  5. I saw that. You could tell Millen was not happy about that. I was waiting for Young to say - "you should know Matt"

    ReplyDelete
  6. WOw...Jackson almost made a big mistake there.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Jackson did the same thing on his TD run! He's gotta hold onto that!

    Good evening gentlemen...

    ReplyDelete
  8. You guys see the Jackson promo on the pre game show?

    ReplyDelete
  9. ANdy would probably deny that stat they just showed - that he is the most pass-happy coach of all-time.

    ReplyDelete
  10. The Jackson promo was hilarious! Did you hear him say it is "unpossible" to cover him man-to-man? Genius.

    ReplyDelete
  11. There's gotta be a ton of Eagles fans there!

    Who's hurt?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Jim Zapala wants to see ya in a Kia.
He can also go blow himself

    ReplyDelete
  13. I want to punch Jim Zapala in the fucking throat. HMan, you're so lucky you're in FL and don't have to see these commercials.

    ReplyDelete
  14. How does a DTackle get called for holding on a run?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Shit Campbell has alot of time back there

    ReplyDelete
  16. The Birds D is due for a turnover. One of many on the night.

    ReplyDelete
  17. BTW sick of Wanda Sykes show commercials

    ReplyDelete
  18. Is this a typical Eagles game where the first drive of scripted plays produces the best offensive results?

    ReplyDelete
  19. Jackson is the cockiest dude in football. I would hate him if he was on any other team...

    ..but he's not..

    ..so I love him

    ReplyDelete
  20. Why cant Westbrook be healthy for just one game!

    ReplyDelete
  21. @McNabbulous: I agree, this is so typical of the Eagles. They always stall after the first drive.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah cockiness plus ignorance is always a combination that produces a love or hate feeling

    ReplyDelete
  23. Why aren't we throwing the deep ball more? DJax and JMac are burners and DMac can throw a pretty good deep ball. Heck, you may even get an interference call.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Fellas, I think we've got another 2+ page blog on our hands.

    ReplyDelete
  25. McNabb has not thrown a pass outside of ten yards yet. Andy Reid is a fat conservative Mormon

    ReplyDelete
  26. McNab I think the record is game 4 328 posts

    ReplyDelete
  27. The 'Skins are not a very good team but we do have to give them some credit. For the most part, they put up solid defensive #'s.

    ReplyDelete
  28. "I'm so quick, my moves are ridiculous, it's unpossible to cover me one on one." - D.Jackson

    ReplyDelete
  29. HMan - what a great night that was!!

IF this game is close, we might knock on that door especially with Sec 202 and namesake on board.

    ReplyDelete
  30. We haven't thrown more than 10 yards because we're actually running the ball. The long ball will be open.

    ReplyDelete
  31. well if they do not test this defense, the eagles are going to find themselves in a HOLE like last week. Heck Fellas maybe McNabbulous will dig it

    ReplyDelete
  32. McNabbulous called it! Good shit.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yeah Namesake that promo is definately worthy of further review

    ReplyDelete
  34. I just lost in fantasy on that play.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Looks like the Birds found a LB.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Not to be too negative here (Spider knows I'm typically not negative)

    But....

Out of the Eagles wins this year (Car, TB, KC, and hopefully WAS) have we seen a solid offensive performance. Solid drives, etc.

OR - is it the product of defensive turnovers and some big/trick plays?

I guess what I'm saying is that we really don't know this offense and that when we play a good team we may get exposed in a bad way.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sec202- you wearing your Vick jersey right now?

    ReplyDelete
  38. I like Gruden, but he definitely has a man crush on Vick. He just got a boner over a 4 yard pass

    ReplyDelete
  39. How is it that McNab is still throwing at peoples feet.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh absolutely I like Vick as much as Jim Zapala

    ReplyDelete
  41. We won't know what this team is all about until they play the Giants, Cowboys, Chargers.

    ReplyDelete
  42. McNabbulous I am sorry i mistakened you for someone else

    ReplyDelete
  43. Whats with officials across sports this year?

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's a cospiracy run by Donaghy from prison.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Gruden sounds like an announcer in a video game.

    ReplyDelete
  46. WOW - they take Portis out at the goalline.

    ReplyDelete
  47. who the hell missed coverage there....Macho?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Now is about the time Andy will panic and completely abandon any form of a run game.

    ReplyDelete
  49. How does he get so wide open? It actually looked like he stepped out before he caught that TD Pass. Someone who can rewind needs to check that for me.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Namesake - I'm on board with you.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Did i hear correctly that London Fletcher is 5 foot 6 linebacker?

    ReplyDelete
  52. Well there was his shot...say bye to the run game

    ReplyDelete
  53. Vick sucks...why are we wasting time trying to give him playing time?

    ReplyDelete
  54. "They're startin to get lathered up" -Gruden

    ReplyDelete
  55. Just keep McNabb in. You are not fooling anyone by putting in Vick

    ReplyDelete
  56. Total waste of a play on 2nd down.

    ReplyDelete
  57. "They're startin to get lathered up"

    Hilarious!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Sean Jones is still on this team?

    ReplyDelete
  59. how about throwing the ball to the recievers

    ReplyDelete
  60. The Eagles just aren't that good. Nice pass Don.

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's amazing how disappointed we all can be when we're up 20-7.

    The Redskins are pretty bad!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Jackson was wide open on that play

    ReplyDelete
  63. The Redskins are atrocious and you're letting a home NFC East team stay in the game. Like I said, they have a pretty good defense, but that comment only carries so much weight.

    ReplyDelete
  64. We're up 20-7. They're not really in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Campbell is a mess...How 'bout all that GREEN in the stands.

    Way to support Philly!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yea I agree you have to go in for the kill at this point. You need touchdowns off of these turnovers.

    ReplyDelete
  67. We could be up 35-0 right now and we wouldn't be satisfied.

    ReplyDelete
  68. OK - maybe I overstated that a bit. But it's only a two possession game. A turnover here or there and they're back in it.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Did you see that pass to the ref? that was his best throw all game

    ReplyDelete
  70. I feel like they're losing right now.

    ReplyDelete
  71. What did I say about the first drive.

    It's all too predictable anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  72. We're missing Westbrook back there.

    McCoy can't block!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Maclin in the endzone right here!

    ReplyDelete
  74. There's the deep ball. It should be used at least once a series.

    ReplyDelete
  75. There it is! Good stuff.

Back to what Spider said earlier...I would absolutely HATE D.Jackson if he wasn't on the Eagles. He taunts on every TD he scores. With that said, I love him.

    ReplyDelete
  76. The ball was still under thrown haha

    ReplyDelete
  77. I'm a big McNabb guy but that ball was UNDERTHROWN!

    ReplyDelete
  78. Everyone should just go to bed already because there's no possible way that we will be satisfied tonight.

    Too much negative speak.

    ReplyDelete
  79. It's fuckin 27-7 and we're complaining.

    ReplyDelete
  80. During half make sure everyone clicks on the ads on the page

    ReplyDelete
  81. Spider do you know that Randy Ready interviewed for the Astros manager job

    ReplyDelete
  82. Randy Ready? Ha! Is Tim Tuffle next?

    ReplyDelete
  83. I want some birds trivia....

I just think we've all seen the same act from the Eagles and it's very frustrating, especially when the Phils are on the brink of re-peating. I'm on board with this team all the way, but we've got a very tough stretch ahead of us. I think we can match-up with the best of them, but they need to show me more.

    ReplyDelete
  84. Ed Wade can't get enough of old Phils. I think Rob Ducey is next in the interview process

    ReplyDelete
  85. Who holds the Eagles all-time record for interceptions?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Click on some ads, damn it. Sec202's got a family to feed for God's sake!

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yea, I'm pretty sure it was Eric Allen with B-Dawk like one or two behind the record.

    ReplyDelete
  88. BDawk is also correct, but still partial credit...

...one more guy had 34 ints.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Zordich and vincent are incorrect.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Haha - had to say it.

    Mark McMillan?

    ReplyDelete
  91. He ran for President a couple years ago...

    ...or Congress

    ...or something.

    ReplyDelete
  92. By the way - they reached the O/U in the first half

    ReplyDelete
  93. Bill Bradley is correct.

Allen, Dawk and Bradley had 34 INTs.

    ReplyDelete
  94. There you go doc, mind's always on the prize!

    ReplyDelete
  95. VP for Kerry? Who was that? John Edwards? He didn't pick off many passes

    ReplyDelete
  96. John Edwards was a stud DB in his day.

    ReplyDelete
  97. oh i dont know i thought i remembered hearing Kerry's VP playing for the Eagles or something

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oakland lost to the Jets 38-0 yesterday...How the F did the eagles lose to that team?

    ReplyDelete
  99. How many TD passes did the trio of 1998 Eagles QBS (Bobby Hoying, Koy Detmer, Rodney Peete) throw throughout the season?

Everyone gets an answer, closest to the correct answer gets it.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Because the Eagles aren't that good.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Doc - b/c the Jets knocked them out early and they gave up. Just like the Eagles should have done.

How can the trademark Andy Reid scripted plays opening drive run NOT WORK on the Raiders??

    ReplyDelete
  102. Still waiting on Sec202 and Doc.

And Hman is he's out there.

    ReplyDelete
  103. is it closest without going over like the Price is right? If it is i am going with 1

    ReplyDelete
  104. if its not then i will go with 8

    ReplyDelete
  105. Shit I missed the question - I dont know 12

    ReplyDelete
  106. Sec202 is closest.

    The answer is a paltry...7

Hoying started 7 games and threw 0.

Koy started 5 games and threw 5.

Peete started 4 games and threw 2.

    ....

Doesn't that make McNabb sound pretty good??

    ReplyDelete
  107. That team went a BOOMING 3-13 for the season.

    ReplyDelete
  108. How could he start 7 games and throw 0 TD's? How could a coach let that go on for 7 games? Unbelievable.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Good point Namesake...

Your answer: It was Ray Rhodes last year as Eagles head coach.

    ReplyDelete
  110. That was the year before the Doug Pederson era began

    ReplyDelete
  111. How about how this team has changed pretty quickly offensively.

    DJax - 2nd year
    Celek - 2nd year
    JMac - 1st year
    McCoy - 1st year

The entire line has been completely re-done and is very young.

If we can start clicking, we can be dangerous.

However, I'm still scared as to our lack of ability to drive the football down the field.

    ReplyDelete
  112. To me, you're not going to win a Super Bowl living off of the big play on the turnover.

Good teams don't allow this many big plays and definitely don't turn the ball over this much.

    ReplyDelete
  113. King is going to get McNabb killed.

    ReplyDelete
  114. Now was is THAT necessary to call a TO there?

    ReplyDelete
  115. The line is young...and not very good right now

    ReplyDelete
  116. Justice was listed as the starter.

    ReplyDelete
  117. I thought it was Peters - wasn't that the left side?

    ReplyDelete
  118. Has Umanura (sp?) ever end up giving Winston Justice 50% of his contract? He sure as hell deserves it.

    ReplyDelete
  119. I would like to drop the Andrews brothers off in the middle of the Atlantic and see the bastards get their Michael Phelps on then.

    They really irritate me.

    ReplyDelete
  120. Starters were Peters, Herremans, Jackson, Cole, Justice on the right

    ReplyDelete
  121. Two fat guys getting high while trying to float in the middle of the Atlantic? That would be interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  122. I was actually leaning towards the swimming part there but funny either way.

    ReplyDelete
  123. They would be more like buoys in the atlantic those fat asses

    ReplyDelete
  124. Is that noise that Gruden is making mean that Jackson is fast?

    ReplyDelete
  125. Did anyone see McNabb try to make a block?

    Now McCoy's hurt?

    Where's Eldridge Bunk?

    ReplyDelete
  126. Maclin's just finding his way but he's clearly not as fast as DJax.

    ReplyDelete
  127. I'm out make sure that you check in tomorrow for World Series matchups position by position. Everyone have a good night

    ReplyDelete
  128. Jackson did not want to catch that ball.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Jax just shortarmed that one...

    ...for who? for what?

    ReplyDelete
  130. Philly already has a clear ADV. position-by-position but not if you ask ESKIN. What a jackass! He said Teixeira is ahead of Howard and Cano was ahead of Utley!

    ReplyDelete
  131. You shouldn't have Jax in that position to begin with.

Spider - you are 2/2 on the DW blogs with Ricky Watters references.

    ReplyDelete
  132. He didn't say Cano was ahead of Utley did he?

    ReplyDelete
  133. Anybody getting pumped thinking about this Sunday?!?!?! Thanks to the Cards, we're playing for FIRST PLACE in that game.

I'll be at the Giants game but would much rather be at the Phils game.

    Anybody wanna trade??

    ReplyDelete
  134. I believe you wrapped him in with Cole Hamels.

    ReplyDelete
  135. I backed off the Hamels comment. That was below the belt.

    ReplyDelete
