Celtics 105 Sixers 74: It was a close one last night at the Wachovia Spectrum, with the Celtics barely edging out the Sixers by 31 at home. Eighth seed here we come! Here are the “highlights”:
- Andre Iguodala led the Sixers with 17 points. Thaddeus Young was the only other Sixer in double figures with 11 on the night.
- Paul Pierce led all scorers with 21.
- The Sixers were a putrid 1-16 on 3-point attempts. Wow. Jason Kapono, the Sixers supposed threat from behind the arc, was 0-2.
- Conversely, the Celtics were 14-20 from 3-point range, including 6 of 8 from sixth-man Rasheed Wallace. The Philly native finished with 20 points for the game.
- The loss snaps the Sixers two-game winning streak – don’t expect too many more of those this season.
It’s going to be a long season for NBA basketball in this town, Sixers fans. Go Phils!
Ed Pinckney and Zoom were talking up Sammy for the great job he did defensively against Al Harrington the other night. I believe Harrington only scored 42 points that night.
ReplyDeleteDidn't Sammy foul out and only play about 20 minutes? Speights was the one who scored 20 pts. and 10 rbs. against the Knicks.
ReplyDeleteQuite possible...tell you the truth, I was delirious watching the game last night. I know Speights had a solid game against the Knicks.
