Just What We Need

Question: What in God’s name could possibly help ease the pain of a World Series defeat at the hands of the MF’n Yankees? Answer: Penn State beating the balls off Ohio State Saturday afternoon, and the Eagles trouncing the Cowboys on Sunday night. It won’t make us forgot about the WS, but it sure as hell will help.

No. 15 Ohio State @ No.11PSU – Saturday 3:30pm, Beaver Stadium.

In what amounts to a BCS-elimination game, Ohio State will show up in State College a five-point underdog to the one-loss Nittany Lions.  Terrelle Pryor, who chose OSU over PSU, comes into this game leading the Buckeyes in passing and rushing, but has been under some scrutiny lately for his poor play. He’ll have his hands full this weekend, as PSU LB’s Sean Lee and Navarro Bowman are both healthy and ready to play. Penn State’s offense seems to have come to life lately as well, and if Darryl Clark doesn’t give the game away * cough Iowa cough* PSU is going to win this game.  F Ohio State!

Cowboys @ Eagles – Sunday 8:20pm, Lincoln Financial Field.

Both teams have had their ups and downs this season, but coming into this game they’re both on a roll.  The Eagles manhandled the Giants last weekend in impressive fashion, and the Cowboys new superstar, Miles Austin, has been lighting teams up for a few weeks now.  Tony Romo, shockingly, hasn’t thrown a pick in three weeks, but the Birds D has 14 INT’s on the season and I expect that total to rise after Sunday.  This is a battle for first place in the NFC East with two high-powered offenses taking the field.  I expect a high scoring affair on both sides, but in the end the Birds will prevail. F the Cowboys!

  1. Penn state was pretty bad last week in the 1st half against Northwestern but then turned it on. Would be nice to hand Ohio State a 3rd loss.
