Yankees @ Phillies Game 5 - Live Blog

DirtyWudders will be on site as the Phillies try to extend their season. Cliff Lee gets the ball against A.J. Burnett. The Yankees hold a 3-1 series lead and the Phillies are hoping to become the first team since the '85 Royals to come back from a 3-1 deficit. In 2004 the Yankees held a 3-0 lead over Boston before blowing it. Wake up Bats. First pitch 7:57pm.

DirtyWudders plans to be in the Parking lot by 4:30 to enjoy the final home game of the season. Feel free to comment away during the game! We will be back for Game 6.

  6. Victo HTP...1st and 2nd, no outs.

I think Victo's hand is broken.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Looks like he's staying in the game, but it's his throwing hand.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Utley!!!!! 3-Run Bomb!!!!!

    It hasn't landed yet!!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Let's keep tacking runs on...Let's make a statement in this game.

  17. 3-1 after 1. Nice start Phils.

    Hopefully Victorino's okay.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Need a solid inning for Lee here. Let's get up 6-1 after 3.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Two quick outs for Lee...Burnett to the plate.

    ReplyDelete
  20. K for Lee! 3-1 after 1.5 innings.

    ReplyDelete
  21. We may not need Victorino's arm the rest of the way

    ReplyDelete
  30. If we lose him you gotta move Werth to center, but who comes in?

I don't even want to think about it.

He's the heart and soul we can't lose.

    ReplyDelete
  31. If Victo can get through this game, he'll be OK for game 6

    ReplyDelete
  32. we need Mr. Miyagi to do that clap and rub hands thing right about now

    ReplyDelete
  33. This crowd needs to get more into it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Gotta call DW and get them rowdy!

    ReplyDelete
  35. We need more runs!!! Here's our inning.

    ReplyDelete
  36. yo howard - now would be an ok time to awake from your slumber. Just sayin....

    ReplyDelete
  37. That was lucky...he didn't get a good jump.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeaaaa! Where's that been all series.

    ReplyDelete
  39. He didn't have a lead at all, that's OK though. Catchers make mistakes.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Get to this bullpen early!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. There we go Werth! 4-1 Phils

1st and 3rd nobody out for Ibanez!

  46. Rocky IV has every 80s cliche song...It's great!

    ReplyDelete
  47. When do you think about taking Lee out to keep him fresh for Game 7?

    Too soon?

    ReplyDelete
  48. I've been batting this back and forth in my head. I'm still not comfortable with this lead and don't think I'll be until it's like 15-1.

I think you can get Lee out there on 2 days rest.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Rocky IV's Training Montage into Hearts on Fire is the greatest movie soundtrack "1-2 punch" of all time

    ReplyDelete
  50. I take Lee out - if we can't hold on to this lead - we don't deserve the championship

    ReplyDelete
  51. Golden - I may have to counter that with the Adrian "WIN" after coming out of the coma training song and then followed up with Bill Conti's Gonna Fly Now.

    ReplyDelete
  52. hmmmm...good call...need to think about that one

    ReplyDelete
  53. I love getting A-Rod out.

Sorry about the delay..I just got in a heated debate with my stubborn roommate on how to calculate an ERA.

    ReplyDelete
  54. We're letting these guys hang in there! Gotta put the nail in coffin!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Lets get some runs this inning!

Lee is pitching well but if we pitched him last night on 3 days do you think he'd pitch this well?

How can the Yanks get away with this 3 man rotation?

    ReplyDelete
  56. Great point by Fox, when Jimmy gets on, we're ON.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I don't pitch Cole until March.

Yanks won't get away with the 3-man rotation.

Pettitte is old and has struggled historically on 3-days rest.

Sabathia has gotten worse and worse as he's pitched on short rest (see last year's NLDS after three straight short rest starts)

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yeah this game is in no way over

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hell yeah! Need to get more

    How bout one more Utley!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Utley has just officially become a superstar

    ReplyDelete
  64. If I'm Charlie I'm seriously considering getting the bullpen going now....

    ReplyDelete
  65. Isn't this fun? Where was this the last couple game?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yo McNabbulous...You can hit that trash can button next to your A-rod comment to erase it. It's kinda making me sick.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Haha - Spider, are we undefeated as a duo on DW??

    ReplyDelete
  68. that's a major blunder by charlie not putting Francisco in for Ibanez

    ReplyDelete
  69. Victo was saying it as he was coming out.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Victo's throw with two bum fingers would've been better than that!!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Alright, let's get some insurance runs here. Not feeling as comfortable as I should.

    ReplyDelete
  72. QUESTION OF THE NIGHT: Who's your 9th inning pitcher?

    ReplyDelete
  73. I thought Madson's stuff was there last night

    ReplyDelete
  74. didn't realize the pinch hit, i'd go with Lidge

    ReplyDelete
  75. no one is throwing according to a txt I just got - sounds like Chollie doesn't know either

    ReplyDelete
  76. Gotta go with Lidge but go situational after that. Don't stay with him if runners get on.

I agree that Madson would be good too.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Does he have a problem with Dobbs?????

    ReplyDelete
  78. Buck and McCarver are talking about how the Yankees never quit!

    Are you serious?

    ReplyDelete
  79. I need to go to bed! I'm getting angry.

Go Phils! All the pressure on the Yanks now!

    Utley is amazing!
