The Morning After

No.3 Villanova 97 St. Joe’s 89: Scottie Reynolds scored 22, Antionio Pena had 15 and Taylor King added 20, including two clutch 3-pointers in the final minutes to give ‘Nova the win over St.Joe’s last night at The Palestra.  The difference in the game may have been the Wildcats hitting 30 of 31 second half free throws, including 29 in a row. ‘Nova sits at 9-0 right now; the Hawks are 3-5.

Pistons 90 Sixers 86: Anybody care what happened in this game? The Sixers have now lost 11-straight, that’s all you really need to know.  Allen Iverson scored 11 points in his second game, the other AI dropped 18, and the Pistons Rodney Stuckey led all scorers with 27 points. I’m officially over all of the A.I. hype, wake me up when the lottery selections are made.

No.4 Kentucky 64 No.14 UCONN 61: Future Sixer (God willing) John Wall scored a season-high 25 points, including 12 of UK’s last 15, and the fourth-ranked Wildcats beat No. 14 Connecticut 64-61 on Wednesday night in the SEC/Big East Invitational.  Jerome Dyson led the Huskies with 17 points.  Kentucky moved to 9-0 with the win, while UCONN fell to 6-2.  Wall is the real deal - I would love to see him in Philly next year.

  1. Can't believe St Joe hung with Nova.

The Sixers are bad but im afraid they are not bad enough to get Wall. Would have to get very lucky with the ping pong balls
