The Morning After

Eagles 23 49ers 17: Donovan threw for one touchdown and ran for another, DeSean Jackson had 140 yards receiving and the Birds beat the Niners 27-13 Sunday to clinch a playoff spot for the eighth time this decade. It was a nice win for the Eagles, maintaining their one-game lead over the Cowboys in the East is big heading into the final two weeks.

Some quick thoughts on the game:

  • DeSean is a f*cking beast.  He’s unstoppable at this point.

  • Not only did Asante record another interception yesterday, his 8th of the year, but he actually made a great tackle late in the game.

  • I hope the Birds hold onto Sheldon after this season, he seems to make a play on defense every week.

  • How about the neck on Takeo Spikes? That thing is like a parasitic twin growing off of his shoulders.

  • Doc: Looks like Vick just has a quad contusion…the experiment continues.  Sorry dude.

  • Fact I did not know: The Eagles D had not allowed a running back to surpass 100-yards in 24 games – Frank Gore ran for 107 yesterday.  That’s impressive.

  • Michael Lewis looked like his old self yesterday, getting burned deep by WR’s and barely making an impact on the game.

  • Another playoff birth for the McNabb-Reid Eagles…good stuff.

Let’s hear your thoughts on yesterday’s game. What do you think about the Eagles chances in the postseason?

Dawkins comes home next weekend; I expect to see a ton of #20 jerseys in the crowd.  It should be a pretty emotional game for him and the fans.  Thoughts?

  1. They're looking better and better with each passing week. Hopefully, the Vikes continue to choke and we continue to win. A first round bye isn't out of the question, and I'm beginning to think it can really happen. Of course, it would take the Vikes losing to a shitty Bears team or the Giants... I think the Giants have a better shot at beating them. If we can take care of business against the Cowgirls and Broncos, then I'll be a Giants fan for a day on Jan. 3

  2. Good win. Jackson could have had 200 yards but McNabb missed him on that bomb. He is explosive! Heard Westbrook is back this week
