Dude files for Bankrupcy
Former Phillie Lenny Dykstra recently filed for bankruptcy protection in California in the face of foreclosure and lawsuits from over 20 creditors. The lawsuits stem from several sources, including his magazine, two private jet companies, a former lawyer, his brother and several former employees. His wife has also filed for divorce. Lenny retired after the 1996 season with the Phillies, leading them to the 1993 World Series during his time here. The Dude is f’d…too bad he couldn’t have turned out more like Dutch Daulton.

The scary thing about this is that he'll come out of this situation without any debt and no criminal record. Once this process is completed, he'll start creating some more business ventures and rake in a ton of money while his creditors are suckered out of millions of dollars.
ReplyDeleteHis former employee who wrote the article in GQ seemed to be the whistle-blower on this whole situation. I'm sure he's going to be looking over his shoulder everywhere he goes from now on.
Was there anyone normal on that 1993 Phils team?
Nails is a mess. The recent HBO Real Sports piece on him was one of the unintentionally funniest things I've ever seen. He didn't come off looking too good to be nice. Said the F word about 25 times with his lisp, all while pretending to look at a computer at a his "great stock picks."
ReplyDeleteHis mom also cut ties with him after he tried to get her to put $25K on her credit card so he could take a jet from Cleveland to L.A. Seems like he'd have alot less debt if he just flew commercial. He's also obsessed with telling people he lives in Gretzky's house.
I agree though, he'll probably come out of this smelling like a rose.
