J.A. Happ pitched very well, lasting 7 innings allowing 3 runs and 6 hits while striking out 7. Chi Sox 10 Tribe 6: Paul Konerko slammed 3 homers, including the go-ahead salami in the sixth to lead the Sox over the Indians. Mark Buehrle improved to 9-2, allowing 3 runs over 7 innings. Tigers 8 KC 5: Justin Verlander K’d 11 Royals and Marcus Thames hit a 3 run bomb leading Detroit to a 3 run win over K.C. Verlander now has 141 K’s before the All-Star break. No truth to the rumor that Ruben Amaro was in attendance scouting losing pitcher Bruce Chen.
