The Morning After

Reds 4 Phils 3: The Phillies blew a 3-0 lead and fell to the Reds 4-3. Brandon Phillips homered twice and Joey Votto doubled and scored on a Roberto Hernandez single in the 9th off of Brad Lidge. J.A. Happ pitched very well, lasting 7 innings allowing 3 runs and 6 hits while striking out 7. Ryan Howard woke up from an extended homerless streak and Jayson Werth followed with a dinger of his own. Inconsistent first half to say the least for the World F’ns..

Chi Sox 10 Tribe 6: Paul Konerko slammed 3 homers, including the go-ahead salami in the sixth to lead the Sox over the Indians. Mark Buehrle improved to 9-2, allowing 3 runs over 7 innings. Grady Sizemore hit 2 homers as he tries to snap out of a season long slump. Son of a bitch is hitting .235? J-Roll of the AL.

Tigers 8 KC 5: Justin Verlander K’d 11 Royals and Marcus Thames hit a 3 run bomb leading Detroit to a 3 run win over K.C. Verlander now has 141 K’s before the All-Star break. No truth to the rumor that Ruben Amaro was in attendance scouting losing pitcher Bruce Chen.

Rays 3 Jays 1: Pat with Big Bat hit a walk off homer snapping a 4-34 slump.
