The Morning After

The Phils are rolling and the Mets suck…life is good.

Phils 5 Marlins 0:  Eight in a row, baby! The Phils finished off a sweep of the Marlins yesterday in Florida, with J.A Happ going 7 innings and picking up his 7th win. Happ, who leads NL rookies in wins, pitched at least seven innings for the fifth start in a row. He allowed five hits and lowered his ERA to 2.68. The Phils improved to 29-15 on the road, best in the majors. Jimmy Rollins came within a HR of the cycle, starting off the game with a leadoff triple.  The Phils are cruising right now, I love it.  The only thing I love more is the demise of the Mets – how’s 9 back feel, losers!

British Open:  Tom Watson had The Open Championship in his hands at the 18th hole on Sunday, but his nerves got to him and he shanked a 6 foot putt to win the tournament.  The miss forced a playoff with Stewart Cink, who proceeded to dominate the old man in a 4-hole playoff - Watson was 6-over in the playoff.

Blue Jays 3 Yankees 1: God I hope Roy Halladay is on the Phillies soon. Doc threw a 6-hit complete game yesterday against the Yankees, lowering his ERA to 2.73 and improving his record to 11-3.  He is ridiculous – definitely worth the prospects.   Do it, Ruben.

  1. Sell the farm to get Halladay. Give up everyone except Drabek! Happ is now 7-0 that is pretty impressive. The Phils are looking right now, and they are doing it with Howard in a mini slump. I was reading that the Indians are going to be sellers. Why not go after Cliff Lee and Victor Martinez if Halladay's price is too high.
