New York Mets reliever Billy Wagner has been claimed by the Boston Red Sox. They now have 72 hours to work out a deal. Wagner is owed $2.7 million for the remainder of this season.
Wagner was expected to miss the entire 2009 season after Tommy John surgery. He struck out 2 hitters in a scoreless inning on Thursday night.

Wags to the Sox for 2 players to be named. He could really help them if he can throw like he has the first 2 times out.
