Cliff Lee threw a six-hit, complete game shutout and Chooch Ruiz hit a three-run double as the Phils beat the Nationals 5-0 last night at CBP. Lee was dominant all game, racking up 9 K’s and walking only 3 on the way to his 7th win as a Phillie. Coming into the game Lee was 1-2 with a 9.60 ERA in his last three starts, so last night’s performance was reassuring that he is still the dominant force we saw in his first games in the NL.
Magic Number Time: The WFC’s have won 6 of 8 and cut their Magic Number to 12 with 19 games remaining. I’m willing to go out on a limb here and say it’s over in the NL East. Postseason baseball in Philly for the third straight year…good times to be a fan. Go Phils!
