1 Game Playoff

Detroit (86-76) at Minnesota (86-76) Line: Twins (-165) Tigers (+145) O/U: 8.5 (-110)

The Minnesota Twins are the first team in Major League History to be part of a play-in game 2 years in a row. 20 year old Rick Porcello (14-9, 4.04) takes the mound for the Tigers against Scott Baker (15-9, 4.36) of the Twin Cities. The Tigers had a Met-like September, finishing 11-15 letting the Twins get back into the race. The Twins were 7 games back on September 6. The winner will travel to the Bronx to take on the Yankees, Wednesday night.

The Tigers' Miguel Cabrera is focused after being arrested over the weekend because of an altercation with his wife. Apparently he was out drinking until 5 AM with members of the Chicago White Sox. The guy clearly just wants to win.

Joe Mauer is hitting .364 and needs to go something like 0-18 to not win the AL Batting title. Japan will be tuned in rooting for extra innings.

Neither team figures to put up much of a fight against the Yankees. Detroit's best shot was if Verlander were able to pitch twice. The Twins needed Kirby Puckett and Dan Gladden to step it up.

Prediction: Twins 6-1
