Game 1

The playoffs are finally upon us, Phils fans. We've been waiting for this day since pitchers and catchers reported so many months ago, and now the waiting is over. The regular season was pretty much just a formality this year, as the Phils dominated the NL East in 2009. Their toughest competition seemed to have been themselves throughout the season, *cough Lidge cough*, but they prevailed with ease and look to imitate their 2008 post season run all the way to Broad Street. I am pumped. More after the jump...

Game 1 kicks off at 2:37 this afternoon at the Bank, with Cliff Lee (14-13) squaring off against the Rockies' Ubaldo Jimenez (15-12). Lee has struggled lately, but my gut says he'll turn it up now that it's playoff time. It would be nice to see the Phils' bats come out hot and get to an early lead, giving Lee a cushion and letting him work his magic. The Phillies are the better of the two teams in this series, leading statistically in almost every major category - let's hope they play like it. I am pumped.

If you're stuck at work this afternoon...that sucks...but leave your thoughts in the comments section throughout the game. Doc, Sec202 and myself will all be in attendance. The playoffs are finally here! The repeat title run begins today! Did I mention I am pumped?

GO PHILS!!!!
