Game 2

Game 1 was a thing of beauty. Cliff Lee looked every bit the ace we all hoped he’d be when he came over earlier this year from Cleveland, and the Phils offense did what we knew they would.  The 5-1 final doesn’t tell the whole story – the Fightins dominated - no need to go into details, we all know what happened. Hell, they may just make a run at this thing if they can keep the bullpen off the field all postseason.

Game 2 of the NLDS should be no easier for the Rockies this afternoon, with last year’s NLCS and World Series MVP Cole Hamels (10-11) taking the mound for the Phils.  He’ll be squaring off against Aaron Cook (11-6) of the Rockies, fresh off the DL with a strained right shoulder and ready to get rocked.  I expect a result similar to what we saw yesterday: good pitching, timely hitting, and a victory for the defending champs.

GO PHILS!!!

  1. Lee looked real good. Would like to see the offense get started a bit earlier today, but a wins a win.
