Postseason look at Preseason predictions

Here is a look at our predicted awards and playoffs scenarios.

NL MVP: Albert Pujols

Preseason Picks: Doc: Pujols (nailed it) Sec202: Hanley Ramirez (probably top 3) Namesake: Ryan Howard (probably top 5)


AL MVP: Joe Mauer

Doc: Grady Sizemore (ughh, one of the AL most disappointing players), Sec202: Kevin Youkilis (probably top 5) Namesake: Mark Teixera (probably top 2 or 3)More after the jump.


NL Cy Young: Tim Lincecum, Chris Carpenter or Adam Wainwright.

Doc and Namesake: Johan Santana (losers), Sec202: Roy Oswalt (8 wins, not quite enough for CY talk)


AL Cy Young: Zach Greinke, Felix Hernandez or CC Sabathia

Doc: Justin Verlander (probably best of the rest) Sec202: Roy Halladay (predicted as a Yankee, probably top 5) Namesake: Jon Lester (solid)

Correct Division Winners:
Doc: 2 or 3 (depending on Twins tonight)

Wildcard: Rockies and Red Sox

Doc: Reds and Angels

Namesake: Mets and Red Sox – only one to get one right

NLCS: TBD

Doc: Phils over Dodgers in 7 (Hamels MVP winning games 1, 5 and 7. Game 7, by coming in to the game in the 10th and getting the win on a Lou Marson pinch hit walk off double off Section’s boy Will Ohman. (Haha, Lou Marson)

Sec202: Phils over Houston (Haha, Houston)

Namesake: Cubs defeat Phils in NLCS (Cubs?)

World Series: TBD

Doc: BoSox over Phils in 6 (Sox were rested – Phils were beat up after needing Hamels to throw in 3 games in the NLCS) Jon Lester wins WS MVP winning 2 games. (Boo!)

Sec202: Phils repeat, beating the Yankees in a classic 7 game series (Would be sweet)

Namesake: Yankees defeat Cubs in WS (Boo!)
