Eagles to Face Desperate Giants

The Eagles have a chance to put a serious dent into the Giants playoff hopes tonight at the Meadowlands. At 7-5 the Giants can tighten the division with a win or fall 2 games behind with a loss.

The birds won the first matchup 40-17 and also won both games at the meadowlands last season. The Eagles seem to be getting healthy at the right time. Akeen Jordan returns to the weakside moving Will Witherspoon to the middle. Trotter will be better suited as a situational player.

Giants killer Brian Westbrook will remain out. Bright side is that the swelling in his knee is almost completely gone. I think he would be a welcome addition as a 3rd down back for the playoff run.

It will most likely be a sloppy field today so the Eagles must not forget to run the ball. Leonard Weaver had a great game the first time these two teams played and had another one last week. Mccoy was ineffective last week and needs to play better. The Giants made some adjustments last week holding the Cowboys to 45 yards rushing after allowing 262 in their first matchup.

Key stat: Eli Manning is 5-9 in December and January games at the Meadowlands.

Prediction:

20-17 Eagles

  11. This is a completely different Eagles team than in the past.

More explosive yet they cannot defend.

  12. Look at Trotter out there...He's looking good tonight (minus that dropped INT)

Offense is looking really good. Whole offense looking great. Need to continue to use the run though.
