Man or Woman or Both

The IAAF has requested that Caster Semenya take a gender test. This stems from he/she improving her personal bests in the 800 meter and 1500 meter race. Caster is a track star from South Africa who's identity has yet to be determined. The verification will require a physical medical evaluation, reports from the gynecologist, psychologist, an internal medicine specialist, and an expert on gender. An expert on gender? Its real simple, you either have a bird, or you don't. I can be an expert on that. Officials believe that it is possible though that he/she has had a sex change at some point. This is a lengthy process to determine what it is. The REAL question is what will they do if it in fact is a man. Nick Davies, a spokesperson for the IAAF had this to say about the situation:

"If there's a problem and it turns out that there's been a fraud ... that someone has changed sex, then obviously it would be much easier to strip results," Davies added. "However, if it's a natural thing and the athlete has always thought she's a woman or been a woman, it's not exactly cheating."

I guess this is something to leave for the "experts" to decide. Stay tuned here at dirty wudders for live breaking news on this story.
