The Washington Nationals came to terms with Stephen Strasburg on a 4-year deal worth more than $15 million a year. It went down to the wire, but they finally got it done. It’s not the $50 million deal Scott Boras was rumored to be asking for, but it’s a record deal for a draft pick nonetheless. Pretty f’n good for a 22-year-old who’s never thrown a major league pitch.

The Nats needed to get this done. I would be shocked to see him live up to the hype but the nats needed to sign him, to be taken seriously. It was a record contract but it seems like the Nats played it well.
