NL East is Closer

The Phils cut their magic number to one last night as they finally took care of the Astros for the first time all season. Pedro Feliz hit a grand slam in the the 4th to give the Phils a 5-1 lead, and there was no looking back from there. Happ pitched good enough to get the win, pitching into 6th. With a Phils win or a Braves loss tonight the Phils will have wrapped up the division and will have won the NL East for the third straight year. It will be Pedro (5-1) on the bump for the Phils tonight facing off against Brad Moehler (8-11). The Phils need to get this done tonight Phils so we can get our players some rest heading into the playoffs. If the season were to end today the Phils would play the Rockies, and the Dodgers would play the Cards.

McCarthy and Wheels did a segment last night during the game with the camera men. They had a little bio next to them and it had their favorite game. I started to think about all the games that I have been too, and which one was the most memorable. For me obviously game 5 was the best (both days), but other than that game the most memorable for me would probably be the last game of the season in 2007against the Nationals. The Mets were historically collapsing right in front of our eyes, with everyone looking on as Tom Glavine was getting shelled in Florida. Howard hit the go ahead home run into our seats in Section 202 in the 7th. Jimmy Rollins hit his 20th triple that game giving him 20+ triples, home runs, doubles, and stolen bases. Oh and the Phils won the division that day. That game is one that I will never forget. It was great to be there and witness The Phils clinch the division the way that they did that year, especially on the last game of the season. Over the last couple of years it seems that the Phils never disappoint. I am sure that there were a ton of games that will never be forgotten over the past couple of years. CBP is a great place to watch baseball, and I am sure that everyone has that one game that they will never forget.
