Game 6

Here it is Phillies fans, the season comes down to this. Forget about everything that has happened over the year, because it comes down to tonight. Pedro vs. Pettite in the Bronx where the self proclaimed "Most Influential player in yankees history" will look to keep the season alive. If someone told me in June that Pedro Martinez would be pitching for the Phils in game 6 of the World Series in the Bronx down 3-2, I would have told them where to go and what to do. The Phils offense woke up last game, but one can only hope that they stay awake for two more games. If Pedro can give the Phils 6 effective innings tonight, that should be enough to get the job done. Forget short rest and tired arms. This is the World Series and both teams are going to pull out all the stops tonight. The Phils just have to play their game and put the ball in play. Pettite is not a strike out pitcher and relies on his defense to make plays. Good things will happen when they stick to what has made them successful all year. I like the top of the order tonight. Look for Rollins and Victo to have big games and lead this team to game 7.

I just want to make a real quick point here. Does anyone else, besides me, think that Pedro should put one in someone's (Posada's) ear tonight? Burnett threw up and in on Victo that nearly put him out for the rest of the series. I know everyone is saying that it was not intentional, but that doesn't matter to me if it was intentional or unintentional. Bottom line is that he almost broke his hand on a pitch that Victo was showing bunt on. I know it was probably a fake bunt because Rollins was stealing, but still. Posada last game, and every other game that he played in this series, looks like he deserves one in his ear. I mean last game he stepped out of the box so many times that finally even the ump had it and didn't grant him time. That is Bush League, and leave it to the Yankees to do shit like that. He is probably doing these things on purpose, but it is time to send a message and who better to do it than Pedro. Let's Go Phils.

  1. If the Phils get baserunners - this game could end around 2:30am, the way Petitte holds runners on.

  2. Agreed. The Phils need to be careful with Pettite not to run themselves out of innings.

  3. Petitte should be careful not to balk. Keep an eye on it, Blue
